Your data

How to delete what Widsith keeps about you, get a copy of it, or ask us a question about it. Everything here can be done from the site itself, and the rest by email.

Delete a character

Open the character from Your characters and choose Delete from Widsith. Its sessions, its runs on the boards, its place in anyone’s feed and the armory’s copy go at once. The file in your game folder is untouched, and if the uploader sends that file again, the deleted sessions stay deleted.

Delete everything

Under Your data in Settings, “Delete everything on Widsith” removes every character you keep, your linked computers, your follows, your player page, the reports you sent from the support page, your votes on the roadmap, your settings and your account itself, and signs you out. What is left afterwards is said on the privacy page under “How long we keep it”: a note of which sessions were deleted, and the moderation records, none of which names you.

A copy of your data

Every character you keep can be downloaded again as a recording file, from its page. That file holds everything the character recorded. What we work out from it, our copy of the armory and our moderation notes aren’t in the file; write to info@widsith.app for a copy of those. What we hold of your account is your BattleTag, your Battle.net ID and the list of characters Battle.net gave us, which Settings shows you. The reports you sent are listed on the support page, where each can be deleted, and your votes are marked on the roadmap, where each can be taken back.

Unlink a computer

Under Linked computers in Settings, or in the uploader itself. The computer’s entry goes at once; what it already sent stays until you delete it.

Your name in someone else’s replay

A public replay names the characters its owner grouped with. If one of them is yours and you would rather it weren’t shown, write to us with the character’s name and realm, and we will hide it everywhere on Widsith.

Your player page

Under Privacy in Settings, you can take your player page down, which removes it and its name at once, or change the name.

Anything else

Write to info@widsith.app to ask what we hold about you, to have something corrected, or for anything the site has no button for. We answer within a month. Because we hold no email address for you, we may ask for your BattleTag and ask you to confirm it by signing in, so that nobody else can ask about your account. If you would rather not sign in, deleting everything from Settings needs no request at all.

Sign in with Battle.net

Battle.net tells Widsith your BattleTag, your account’s permanent ID and which characters are on your account, so a character you bring can be shown to be yours. It never gives us your password or your email address, and we keep nothing more than that.

Signed in, your characters are on every computer you sign in on, and the Widsith Uploader can send your new play for you.

By continuing you agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy page.

Open your recording

The game only writes Widsith.lua when the interface reloads. If you have played since you last brought it, click the Widsith flame by your minimap, or log out, or type /reload.

Where the file is

C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft ›_classic_beta_ ›WTF ›Account ›your account ›your realm ›your character ›SavedVariables › Widsith.lua

Each character has a file of its own. The Where’s my file? guide walks you to it.

If you'd rather not find it each time, the Widsith Uploader sends your recordings for you after you play.

The recording plays straight away in this browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to keep it on Widsith.
